Unit Overview
This unit explores the lives of four inspiring people from around the world—Barack Obama, Noa Kirel, Lionel Messi, and Simone Biles. Students will learn how Barack Obama, the former president of the United States, works hard, listens to people, and connects with them in a friendly way. They will discover how Noa Kirel, a famous Israeli singer, performs on stage and entertains her fans, sometimes with funny or surprising moments. The unit also looks at Lionel Messi, one of the greatest football players in the world, and how he trains, plays, and scores goals. Finally, students will explore the story of Simone Biles, an Olympic gymnast, and how she practices, competes, and wins medals.
Through simple texts, students will find out what makes each person special, learn about their daily routines, and see how they inspire others. Activities include vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and speaking practice, helping learners use the present simple tense to describe people’s lives, habits, and achievements. By the end of the unit, learners will be able to talk about these global icons confidently, using basic English sentences in the present simple tense.
